DATA GOVERNANCE · ORIGIN

Defensible evidence must know who said what, about which entity and when

Agricultural data governance is not about adding fields. It is about preserving identity, authority, provenance, validity and context of use.

Stable identity

Producer, farm, plot, delivery, lot and document need IDs that do not depend on mutable names.

Provenance

Source, original row/field where relevant, actor, date, method and transformation.

Versions

A new correction must not silently erase evidence used in an earlier decision.

Authority

A user, model or integration may propose; write authority depends on permissions and deterministic rules.

Missing states

Unknown, missing and not-applicable are different states and should not become “yes” for convenience.

Portability

Evidence should leave as reviewable packages without indiscriminate tenant access.
